Who is this Mark T Cox ?

Piano playing, pop song singing, big dickie-bow wearing Mark T Cox has been generously spreading himself around for years, showcasing his camp musical comedy to anyone who'll listen!

This former country-boy church organ player, excites and delights using his enviable pianist skills, terrible puns and wholesome tales of growing up in Ireland. With original songs, pop covers and a touch of Irish filth, Mark's solo sit-down comedy is light, fun and wonderfully suggestive!" - somebody said one time.

After mild childhood fame as the organ player in his small local church in Co. Clare, Mark headed for Dublin at the ripe age of 17. There, in the bright lights of Ireland’s capital, Mark began his cabaret career, landing a weekly residency in The George, the nation’s oldest gay venue, alongside drag legend Veda Lady. Together, their camp cabaret duo act ‘Slap & Tickle’ toured Ireland performing at Body & Soul Festival, Electric Picnic Festival, and headlining the main stage at Dublin Pride Festival for several years. Today, Mark and Veda regularly reunite for special performances in Ireland and the UK.

Since moving to London almost 10 year ago, Mark now produces and hosts regular solo and variety shows at infamous venues such as The Glory, Dalston Superstore, The Old Church Stoke Newington, plus a fab weekly residency at The CellarDoor piano bar in the West End.

Whether it’s an enormous summer festival tent, an intimate cabaret basement, or 20 people huddled ‘round the piano in the back of an East London cafe, Mark wants every experience, to be warm, kind, full of songs and a laugh!

Mark has been lucky to perform and collaborate in some truly inspiring shows alongside some of London’s entertainment elite including Jonny Woo and David Hoyle, plus countless incredible cabaret, drag and comedy stars from the London scene.

Collaborations with performance artist Xnthony and comedian Harriet Braine have seen them bring shows to Vault Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival, The National Theatre River Stage, as well as numerous performances at The Barbican, The Albany, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, and The London Irish Centre.

Mark has also worked for many years with RuPual’s Drag Race UK stars Vinegar Strokes and Just May, with regular duet shows at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, POW Brixton, London’s Hippodrome Casino and The Karaoke Hole.

Today you can catch Mark performing solo comedy shows across London, hosting variety cabarets here, there and everywhere, plus regular international appearances in Ireland, across Europe and Japan!

(He’s also available for private hire, weddings, office parties, and various glamorous occasions, btw!)
